Cross Country Home Services Expands Operation Appliance AidSM For Veteran Families in Anderson

New program provides brand new appliances to military families in need

Anderson, S.C. (Nov. 9, 2012) – Cross Country Home Services, Inc. (CCHS), one of the country's leading providers of home warranty products and maintenance plans, has expanded OPERATION APPLIANCE AIDSM: Keeping things running smoothly for our veterans, into Anderson, South Carolina, where the company's customer care facility is located.  Today, in honor of Veterans Day, two military families will receive much needed appliances through the program.

"CCHS is very proud to be an American company, and the Operation Appliance Aid program reflects the strong patriotic sentiments and appreciation for our veterans felt throughout our company. Giving back to veterans who live in the communities where our offices are located is a real privilege," said CCHS President Sandra Finn. "We recognize the significant struggles many of these families face,  and we believe that providing help in the form of a new appliance can bring an immediate sense of relief to them. We're so proud that we are able to show our appreciation for their service to our country on Veterans Day."

OPERATION APPLIANCE AIDSM  was launched earlier this year in Ft. Lauderdale with great success. Through the program, CCHS provides appliances and appliance packages to veteran and military service families in need. It's being expanded into Anderson to coincide with the holiday in partnership with the Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM).  Harold Futch, age 67, a retired Marine (1963-1967) who had a tour of duty in Vietnam, will receive a new Whirlpool® refrigerator and clothes dryer. Futch has had a heart attack, lung cancer and is on oxygen.   He and his wife live on social security and cannot afford to purchase a new refrigerator and currently do not have a dryer.  The second donation of a Whirlpool® washer and dryer will be given to John McClesky, who served 4 years in the Army and is currently working in construction.  He is a single father of a seven-year-old daughter, who has leukemia and must travel to Charleston, SC every month for chemotherapy. He cannot afford to pay his medical bills, but still actively volunteers at AIMS whenever he can.

"We have a strong commitment to Anderson and the surrounding communities and we thought Veterans Day was the perfect time to bring Operation Appliance Aid to the veterans of this community," said Mike Roneker, Site Director.
