Operation Appliance AidSM Makes Memorial Day Delivery To Local Veteran

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 29, 2013) Cross Country Home Services, Inc. (CCHS), one of the country's leading providers of home warranty products and maintenance plans, presented a deserving South Florida veteran with a generous gift this week as part of its OPERATION APPLIANCE AIDSM: Keeping things running smoothly for our veterans program. David Jones, a 45-year-old U.S. Navy Veteran and father of three, received a brand new G.E. refrigerator on Memorial Day. The donation replaced Jones's broken appliance, which he was unable to repair due to financial restraints.

David Jones served in the U.S. Navy for seven years. During the course of his military career, he specialized in surface ship nuclear propulsion and plant operations. Jones received many awards for his outstanding service, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal and the Bronze Star Medal, which recognizes significant acts of heroism in combat zones. After retiring from military service to focus on his family, the veteran worked for 17 years as a network manager for AT&T, but was recently laid off due to company downsizing. Jones's unemployment placed a significant financial burden on his family and made the cost of a new refrigerator unfeasible.

"CCHS is very proud to be an American company, and the Operation Appliance Aid program reflects the strong patriotic sentiments and appreciation for our veterans felt throughout our company. Giving back to veterans like David Jones an honor," said CCHS President Sandi Finn. "We recognize the significant struggles many of these families face, and we believe that providing help in the form of a new appliance can bring an immediate sense of relief."

OPERATION APPLIANCE AID was launched last year in South Florida and South Carolina through partnerships with the United Way of Broward County and the Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM).

Through the program, CCHS provides new appliances, appliance packages and home systems to veteran and military service families in need. To date, ten families have been helped, and CCHS's goal is to expand the program across the country.
